InterDoc is a study center aimed at promoting documentary film by organising meetings, conferences and screenings.

Based in Italy, InterDoc promotes cultural exchange in the field of documentary film between Italy and other countries of the world, in collaboration with their institutions and associations, and promotes the enhancement of non-fiction audiovisual heritage, through study, research, publications and audiovisual productions.

The Institute features a multi-media library housing a collection of books on documentary film in several languages and an archive of non-fiction films, available to students and researchers.

Interdoc was founded by people involved in the fields of documentary filmmaking, documentary film production and academic and associative educaction in Italy, who believe in the importance of developing public awareness of documentary film culture. This is particularly important in Southern Europe, where such awareness is less developed for historical reasons.
